The following new features are available in Bug Pad 2.0.

When you first login to an existing database or file using Bug Pad 2.0, you will be prompted to update your data store. Once a file is updated, you will not be able to use it with Bug Pad 1.0. If your data store is a SQL Server database, you will be able to continue using it with Bug pad 1.0 clients.

1.   View Management - as well as each user having their own default view, each folder can now have its own view for each user.
2.   Default filter - the built-in default view filters out closed work items, making working with the folders more manageable.
3.   Rename work item fields - you can re-label values in the work item screen. The new name will be used for the field throughout the system.
4.   Add new work item fields - as well as re-labeling fields, you can add new values to each work item.
5.   Add your own icons - in addition to the built in colored globe icons, you can add any icon to the list of available icons.
6.   Rules to update work items - automate work item updates by creating rules that save users time and effort.
7.   Quick Search - there is a new simple way to search for work items, just type any value in the work item into the search box and click search.
8.   Offline data management tools - new commands allow you to compact, move or completely re-create your data file or offline data store.
9.   Go To work item - if you know the work item number of a work item, you can open it quickly using the Go To command.
10. Find text in work item - you can search for text in the history of a work item using the new work item find bar.
11. Select Multiple Folders - you can select more than one folder or search folder to see work items from all selected folders in the list.
12. Visual Studio Add In - Bug Pad now includes an add-in for Visual Studio 2005 and 2008, so you can manage you work items without leaving the Visual Studio IDE.
13. User and Permission management - administrators can now manage users and permissions from the built in security screens.
14. Synchronize the Assigned To field with user list - the Assigned To field can be set so that it is automatically updated to match the list of users in the security area.
